Preview Bangs on Your Photo Before You Cut
Bangs are quick to cut and slow to grow out, which is why many people hesitate. A rough preview on your own photo can help you decide whether the idea is worth a conversation with your stylist.

This guide covers only bangs. For the general process of previewing styles and colours, and how to brief a stylist, read Preview a hair colour or haircut before the salon.

Take a photo that previews bangs well
- Face a window in daylight so the light falls evenly on your face.
- Hair pulled back or away from your forehead, so your hairline is visible. Bangs have to be placed on the forehead.
- Hold the camera at eye level and face it squarely, with nothing on your head.
- Take a second photo with your hair in your normal style, to compare.
How to preview bangs
- Choose your clearest, front-facing photo
The Hairstyle changer accepts JPG, PNG or WebP of at least 128 px on each side. Larger photos are resized to at most 1600 px before upload.
- Upload it (your own photo, or one from someone who agreed)
- Choose Bangs from the hairstyles
Keep the colour natural for the first run, so you are only judging the bangs.
- Check the price, then preview the bangs
The credit price appears first. A bangs preview usually finishes in 20 to 60 seconds. If it fails, the held credits return automatically; if the result is still waiting to be confirmed, they may stay held until the check ends.
- Compare it with your normal photo
The result is about 1 megapixel (around 1024×1024 for a square photo). View them side by side and look at the forehead, eyebrows and the line where the bangs meet the rest of your hair.
- Save it, then sleep on it
A preview that still looks good the next morning is a better sign.
- Save the bangs previews within 24 hours
What a preview can and cannot tell you
- It is generated by AI. It aims to keep your face but can change other details, so judge the hair rather than the whole picture.
- It does not know your hair's texture, density or cowlicks. The site's guide says a real cut may turn out differently from the preview.
- It cannot show how much styling the bangs need each morning, or how they look in humid weather, wind or after a day of wearing a hat.
- It cannot judge whether bangs suit you. Only your own reaction and your stylist can.
What to ask your stylist
- Whether bangs will work with your hairline, cowlicks and hair type.
- Which kind (full, side-swept, wispy, curtain) and how it grows out.
- How often you will need a trim, and how much it costs.
- What you can do if you dislike it, such as pinning, a headband or waiting.
Good habits
- Take the preview photo and a reference photo of the style you like to your stylist.
- Try once with a lighter version of the idea before the full cut.
Frequently asked questions
Will my bangs look exactly like the preview?
Probably not exactly. The preview does not know your hair texture.
Can I try bangs with different hair colours?
The tool has 10 colour options, but try bangs alone first.
Does previewing bangs cost credits?
Yes. Each bangs preview costs credits, shown before you run it, and the credits held for a failed preview are returned. A preview that is still unconfirmed can keep them held until the check finishes.
How long are results kept?
24 hours, so save the previews you like. The Privacy Notice says results are fully deleted from storage within 7 days.
Can I use a photo of someone else?
Only if they agree to you using their photo for a bangs preview.
Try bangs on your photo
Upload a clear photo, choose Bangs, see the credit price first, and compare with your usual look.
